Finding your way around
Once you're signed in, every part of the app is reachable from the left sidebar and the top bar. They stay out of your way during exams (both hide automatically on exam-taking screens so you can focus).
The main app layout: sidebar on the left, top bar across the top.
The left sidebar
The sidebar is your main menu. You can collapse/pin it to give yourself more room (your preference is remembered). On phones it's tucked behind a ☰ menu button in the header.
These are the items you'll find, grouped by what they're for:
Your hub
- Dashboard — your home base and stats. See Dashboard.
- My Base — a gamified study lounge with points, streaks, and daily missions. See My Base.
- Roadmap — your study plan and deadline pacing. See Roadmap.
Learn
- Lessons — structured curriculum (in development — see Lessons).
- Coaching — request a real human tutor. See Coaching.
- Novel Nook — graded-reader library. See Novel Nook.
- Watch & Learn — video study kits. See Watch & Learn.
Practise
- Vocabulary — vocabulary builder + review. See Vocabulary.
- Practice Dojo — fluency games. See Practice Dojo.
Assess
- Mock Exam — full IELTS simulations. See Mock Exams.
- Results — your past exams and reviews. See Results history.
More
- Global Feed / News — curated news to read. See News.
- Messages — your message center and notifications. See Messages.
- Config (Settings) — account and study settings. See Settings.
- Billing — manage your subscription. See Billing.
The top bar
Across the top-right you'll find quick actions:
- Notifications — a bell with a dropdown of your latest alerts (achievements, exam reviews, reminders). Opens the full Messages center.
- Quick Vocabulary — a shortcut into the Vocabulary builder.
- Audio/mic status — shows your microphone state; useful before a speaking activity.
- Your avatar (user menu) — opens a menu with:
- My Dashboard, Settings, Exam History, Messages, Manage Subscription
- a theme switcher (light / dark / system)
- Help & Support (email link)
- Sign Out
If you've earned study rewards, the top bar may also show your points, streak, and rank at a glance.
Good to know
- Exam screens are distraction-free. When you start an exam or a review, the sidebar and top bar disappear. Use the on-screen back control to return to the menu.
- Dark mode is the default, matching the app's terminal-style design; switch it in the user menu or Settings.
- Mobile: the sidebar becomes the ☰ menu; everything is still reachable, just behind that button.
