Quick Response

Discipline: THE ARENA · Trains: Speaking (+ Listening)

A question lands mid-call. React out loud within seconds — speed and relevance are both scored.

Quick Response kills the "freeze." A question is put to you and you have only a few seconds to start answering out loud — exactly the pressure of IELTS Speaking Part 1 and rapid Part 3 follow-ups, where there's no time to script a perfect answer in your head.

A Quick Response scenario

How a session goes

  1. Open Quick Response and pick a scenario.
  2. You get a moment of context, then a question lands.
  3. Start speaking quickly — the value is in reacting fast, not rehearsing.
  4. See your result: how quickly you responded and how relevant/fluent your answer was.

What's scored

Speed of response and relevance/fluency of what you said. Long hesitation hurts; a prompt, on-topic answer wins.

Tips

  • Open with anything true and on-topic, then develop it. Starting beats stalling.
  • Don't aim for the perfect answer — aim for an immediate, coherent one.
  • Mic + headphones in a quiet room keeps your transcript (and score) clean.
