Speaking Games

Discipline: FIELDWORK · Trains: Speaking (+ Listening)

Four real-time speaking drills: free flow, scenario quest, mystery solver and fantasy adventure.

Speaking Games are open-ended conversation drills with an AI — the low-pressure way to simply get talking time in, which is what actually builds fluency. There are four modes, each with a different flavour.

The Speaking Games menu

The four modes

  • Free Flow — an open conversation on a topic. Pure fluency and sustaining speech.
  • Scenario Quest — you're given a role and a goal (e.g. resolve a complaint, get the booking) and talk your way there. Task-focused speaking.
  • Mystery Solver — the AI sets a puzzle; you ask questions and reason aloud to crack it. Trains question-forming and listening.
  • Fantasy Adventure — the AI narrates a story; you decide and speak your character's actions. Creative, reactive speaking.

How a session goes

  1. Open Speaking Games and choose one of the four modes.
  2. Enter the session and talk with the AI — it responds to what you say, so it's a real back-and-forth, not a script.
  3. The session runs for a while, then ends with feedback on your speaking (fluency, coherence, range).

What's scored

Your fluency, coherence, and range over a sustained conversation — plus how well you listened and responded.

Tips

  • Volume of talking is the point. Don't aim for perfect; aim for more, more often.
  • Pick the mode that suits your mood — variety keeps you coming back daily.
  • A great warm-up before a Speaking mock exam.
