Speed Scan
Discipline: RECON · Trains: Reading
Scan a dense data dossier under time pressure and lock onto the exact value each task demands.
Speed Scan drills scanning — the skill behind IELTS questions that ask you to find a specific name, number, or detail buried in a dense text. You hold the task in mind and hunt the text for the exact answer, fast.

How a session goes
- Open Speed Scan and choose a puzzle.
- You're shown a dense document (a dossier, table, or report) and a set of targets to find.
- Locate and select the exact value each task asks for, while the clock runs and plausible look-alikes try to trip you up.
- See your result — how accurate and how fast you were.
What's scored
Accuracy (did you pick the right values, not the decoys?) and speed (how quickly you found them). The two together teach you to scan precisely under pressure rather than reading everything.
Tips
- Read the target first, then hunt. Know exactly what shape of answer you're looking for (a date? a surname? a percentage?) before your eyes hit the text.
- Beware the decoys — Speed Scan deliberately plants near-misses, just like the real test.
- Use it as a warm-up before a Reading mock exam.
